Page and Cover Templates

These are the reference temples for laying out your webcomic book. The Green areas are the “safe” areas, where you do not have to worry about text and graphics being cut off in the trimming process. The Yellow areas are areas where  text and graphics might not be displayed completely--in printing there is a slight left-right-up-down movement of about .125" (3.0 mm), so text and graphics placed in this area might be trimmed or cut off in some books. The Red areas are the planned trim edges, text and graphics in this area will be trimmed and cut off. Place graphics and text in this area only if you intend for the illustration to “bleed” completely off the trimmed page--so the entire printed page is the illustration, with room for slight movement of the paper as it goes through the printing process so there will not be a white border showing on the cover. If you intend for the illustration to bleed, then extend the illustration a minimum of .125" (3.0 mm) beyond the trim edge indicated. Note that on interior pages we can not guarantee bleeds. We recommend that no straight edge borders, rule, or text be placed within .25" (6.0 mm) of the trim edges.

These covers templates are for reference only. When you have decided on a book size and number of pages we will send you a working template that you can use to build your cover to wrap around your  book. If the book is thick enough there will be a space indicated where you can place title information on the spine, just stay inside the guide dots.
